Simple tips for a great CV - Keep it concise and be honest!
CV stands for Curriculum Vitae. CV is needed to accompany your application for positions if you are applying to academic positions. You will need a resume for all other jobs.
To begin with, tailor your CV to the job you're applying for: One of the most important things you can do to make your CV stand out is to tailor it to the job you're applying for. Look at the job description and try to use keywords and phrases from it in your CV.
Idea in Brief
CV is generally longer than a resume because you will be expected to share every bit of detail about your academic and research credentials. If you published 10 papers in journals, then you would list all 10 of them in your CV; whereas, if it's a resume, you would just say you published 10 papers in leading journals in the subject area XYZ.
Use a clear and easy-to-read CV format
Your CV should be easy to read and well-organized. Use bullet points and headings to break up text and make it easier to skim. Use a clear and simple font and make sure the layout is consistent throughout.
Highlight your most relevant skills and experiences: Your CV should focus on your most relevant skills and experiences for the job you're applying for.
Make sure to highlight your achievements and accomplishments in each job, and include any relevant qualifications or certifications.
Keep it concise
Your CV should be no more than two pages long, and ideally should be just one page. This means you'll need to be selective about what you include, and make sure that everything you do include is relevant to the job.
Use active language and action verbs: Use active language and action verbs to describe your skills and experiences. This makes your CV more engaging and helps to emphasize your achievements.
Be honest: Don't exaggerate your skills or experiences in your CV. Be honest about what you've done, and focus on the skills and experiences that are most relevant to the job.
Proofread your CV
Before you submit your CV, make sure to proofread it carefully. Check for spelling and grammar errors, and make sure that the formatting is consistent throughout.
Include relevant contact information: Make sure to include your name, email address, and phone number at the top of your CV.
If you have a LinkedIn profile or online portfolio, you can include that as well.

By following these tips, you can create a strong CV that will help you stand out to potential employers. Remember to tailor your CV to the job you're applying for, highlight your most relevant skills and experiences, and keep it concise and easy to read. Good luck!
